Stabbitha and the Knifey Wifeys "Disgust" Launch with Bouddica and Laura Panic at the Hamilton Hotel

For everyone who's looked at the world lately and thought: "This is disgusting". Stabbitha and the Knifey Wifeys deliver a new album, Disgust, that unapologetically yells at the everyday indignities and frustrations that wear us down. The album's subjects could be heavy but the results are unexpectedly uplifting, fast and universally capable of making people drive over the speed limit. Beneath the distortion lies a deeply personal exploration of womanhood, queerness, survival and loss. At its core, Disgust explores our decline from the moment of birth. Life is short. Passing is inevitable. The fleeting nature of life and our awareness of mortality are what really make humanity human. Disgust honours something machine learning can never replicate: Beautiful despair. Known for their cathartic live shows and high-energy, genre-bending punk performances, Stabbitha and the Knifey Wifeys have a habit of converting people who swear they don't even like heavy music. Audiences leave sweaty, smiling, and feeling better than when they arrived. After listening to Disgust, so will you. As Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill put it: "...no idea how the singer is alive after soundcheck... so much power!!".
